Set in 1999, 20th Century Girl is about a teen girl who keeps close tabs on a boy in school on behalf of her deeply smitten best friend ŌĆō then she gets swept up in a love story of her own. Han Hyo Joo made a special appearance in the movie as the adult Bo Ra (Kim Yoo Jung) living in the 21st century. 20th Century Girl begins as Na Bo Ra, all grown up in 2019, receives an old videotape. Watching the old tape, Han Hyo Joo walks down memory lane of her 17-year-old self, played by Kim Yoo Jung, in 1999. The released stills show adult Bo Ra lost in thoughts, raising questions about the story of a woman who heard the news about her first love in the 20th century in the 21st century. Moreover, her calm atmosphere, in contrast to young Bo Ra, who showed cheerful, lovely charms, amplifies viewersŌĆÖ curiosity as to how Bo RaŌĆÖs first love comes to an end. Meanwhile, Kim Yoo Jung shared, ŌĆ£This is the third time that IŌĆÖve met (Han Hyo Joo) to play the younger and older days of the same role.
