According to YG Entertainment, on July 6th, BLACKPINK is in the final stage of preparing their new album. They will begin filming their music video in July and release their new album in August. A source from the label explained, ŌĆ£A lot of music that is in line with BLACKPINKŌĆÖs songs has been completed with much effort over a long period. To expand the groupŌĆÖs emotional connection with global fans, they will set out for the largest world tour in K-pop girl group history until the end of the year and drop their comeback album next month. Furthermore, big projects fitting of that status will continuously follow.ŌĆØ This will be BLACKPINKŌĆÖs first comeback in about a year and ten months, following the release of their first studio-length album ŌĆ£THE ALBUMŌĆØ in 2020, which included the title track ŌĆ£How You Like ThatŌĆØ and the special collaboration song ŌĆ£Ice Cream.ŌĆØ With ŌĆ£Lovesick GirlsŌĆØ as the title track, the album sold more than 1.4 million copies and became the first album by a female K-pop artist to sell more than a million copies.
