Recently, multiple industry insiders told Sports Chosun, ŌĆ£Cliffhanger, which only recently resumed its filming after halting all schedules as a preemptive measure, was put on alert again when a part-time staff who worked on the filming set was confirmed with COVID-19. Now, filming has come to a stop, and those who came into contact with the staff are getting tested.ŌĆØ Cliffhanger is a mystery drama that will tell the story of people who climb through the mysterious and unexplored regions of KoreaŌĆÖs Mount Jiri. The drama boasts its jaw-dropping crew, Goblin and Mr. Sunshine director Lee Eung Bok, Kingdom writer Kim Eun Hee, star-studded cast of Jun Ji Hyun, Ju Ji Hoon, Sung Dong Il and Oh Jung Se. Cliffhanger started filming in October at the filming set in Namwon, and it seemed to have sailed smoothly as the filming moved on to the Jiri Mountain area. However, when the country faced a surge in COVID-19 cases in November, the production team halted filming from early-December to the 20th. And yet, just a few days after the filming resumed, a staff tested positive for the virus, once again forcing the drama to come to an all-stop. The production team immediately started self-isolation and began preemptive inspection after selecting those who made contact with the staff.
